TICKING BIOLOGY
VISUAL IDENTITY

Ticking Biology is the brand identity for a new educational platform by Dr. Jūra Lašas, a neurobiologist dedicated to translating menopause science into clear, relatable content. The platform’s mission is to make evidence-based knowledge accessible and to break the silence surrounding this pivotal stage of women's lives.

Menopause is too often wrapped in myths, softened in pastels, and spoken about in whispers. Our task was to create a visual identity that could cut through stigma and silence, and reach middle-aged women – sparking conversation about menopause loudly, clearly, and unapologetically.

We built the identity around a clear narrative: time, science, and conversation. It starts with the name Ticking Biology – a reminder that time is part of the process and that menopause is biology, not a flaw.

The name evolved into a logo that blends cues of time and dialogue, anchored by a proud, vivid flame representing the most iconic menopause symptom: hot flashes. The flame set a tone for a feminine, but fierce palette where color functions as a statement, making menopause visible across digital feeds, public spaces, and everyday culture.

A typographic system was designed for clarity – built to carry complex, evidence‑based content while staying easy to read, scroll, and understand. We extended the visual world with illustrations, bringing warmth and a touch of playfulness to science. The brand comes alive – from podcast openers to social media – unfolding across digital and physical applications to be bold, wearable, and shareable.

The identity did more than launch a brand – it started a conversation. Ticking Biology entered the world with confidence, equipping the audience with the language and tools to spark a cultural shift: reframing menopause from silence and myth to informed, open conversation. It changes how menopause is seen and how it’s spoken about – with science-backed clarity, empathy, and pride.
